The heart of leadership at Life Church Bath is to serve the church family across all generations to fulfill the calling on the church in Bath and beyond, with strong relational connections to the USA, Africa and Asia.
Dan and Fi Reynolds, senior leaders
Dan grew up in the Church in the 1980s whilst his parents, Peter and Barbie Reynolds, led the Church. Dan and Fi, with their three boys, have been based in the Chicago area of the USA since 2003. There, they are responsible for three churches, plus one in St. Louis. In 2015, Dan and Fi were appointed Senior Leaders of the Church where they began to renew vision and culture before establishing a new leadership structure. They remain responsible for the churches in the USA and now share their time between Chicago and Bath. Their focus is on renewing vision, culture and leadership within Life Church Bath to see it realise its full potential to impact the city of Bath and beyond.
James and Jeanine Porter, elders
James and Jeanine Porter live in Bath with their 3 children, Ethan, Finn and Katie-Grace. They serve on the eldership team as well as heading up Prayer Ministry, Life Groups and Iconic (the young adult and student ministry). James and Jeanine were married in the Church but then moved to Surrey and then on to South Africa where they helped plant a church in the Western Cape, serving as youth leaders and elders. In 2010, they returned to Bath only to pack up again 3 years later and move to Redding, California, to study for 3 years at Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry.
They have a heart and passion for seeing the Kingdom of God manifest in power to transform lives: body, soul and spirit.
Jonathan and Ruth Horsfall, elders
Jonathan and Ruth Horsfall have both grown up in the house, starting by being babies in the creche. They were involved in church life all the way until 2015 when they moved to Illinois, USA, to become Senior Leaders of Life Church Morris. They moved back to be part of the Life Church Bath family in January 2020.
Their life is spent loving on their kids and cooking any food that requires every pot and pan in the house! Their heart is to see everyone step into their calling and the Kingdom of God to influence every corner of the world.
Joshua and Kara Smith, elders
Joshua and Kara Smith have lived in Bath for 11 years. They find life in pastoring, speaking and making music. God has led them to build community, through music (called ‘Orphan No More’), with the ‘creatives’ in the city and church. This, and being in the Church family are great blessings to their lives.
Their heart is to see God’s love expressed through creativity and the arts by creating space for all to sit at the table of the Lord and by raising a banner of God’s relentless love for His children over this world!
Tim and Cerys Wood, elders
Tim and Cerys presently travel regularly from their home in Leicestershire to Bath in the UK and to St. Charles in the USA where they also carry out ministry. They have been involved in leadership throughout their marriage. They stayed for 14 years at the church they helped to plant before moving back to serve in ministry in the larger ‘mother’ church from which they were sent. They plan to relocate their UK base from Leicestershire to Bath during 2020, by which time all three of their adult daughters will have moved out of the family ‘nest’ and on to new pastures.
Tim & Cerys both carry a discernment, pastoral and prophetic anointing and their passion is to see people encouraged, equipped, strengthened and released to advance in their destiny. They love people and love life!
Nigel and Jill Stenning, former elders - now retired
Nigel and Jill retired on Sunday 2 August 2020 having been involved in church leadership in Chester and Bath since the late 1970s, moving to be part of the Church in 1986. They took on the role of pastoral care for the church in early 2012. In September 2013, Nigel was appointed Associate Leader and, subsequently, took on the role of Interim Leader in 2015 to lead the church through a period of transition.
Their heart has always been to establish a sense of family and security amongst God’s people so that individuals may find and feel comfortable in their true identity and destiny. After a break they will be looking to see where God will have them serve the Life Church Bath family.
